Chief Executive Steve Kavanagh thanks supporters for their terrific support ahead of the game against Hull City
We’d like to remind supporters that tickets for Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Hull City are now sold out to home supporters.
As of Friday morning, Hull City had sold 1,100 tickets, with an away end allocation of 2,200.
The FA rules state that we have give them a minimum of 1,800 tickets for the game.
Once we knew they would not reach their full allocation we got in contact with the police and safety advisory group to try and utilise the ground and make more room available for home fans.
Unfortunately for safety reasons we were unable to achieve this because of the minimum exit requirements for away fans in the North Bank.
When more than 800 supporters are visiting, both entrances/exits must be available meaning we are unable to move the segregation line.
Chief Executive Steve Kavanagh said: “As much as we would have liked to have had more home supporters in the ground on Saturday it just wasn’t possible due to safety reasons.
“We have been absolutely delighted with the demand for tickets for this game and we’re all looking forward to seeing a sold out home end.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has purchased tickets for the game and hope you all have a great day at Roots Hall.”
