Phil Brown, Barry Corr and Will Atkinson all feature in our FA Cup special programme for the game against Hull City
Phil Brown, Will Atkinson, Barry Corr and Frankie Banks all feature in Saturday’s FA Cup matchday programme.
Blues face Hull City at Roots Hall and we’ve got exclusive interviews with the boss, who of course managed Hull City, Atkinson, who spent 14 years with the Tigers, Corr, who can’t stop scoring in the FA Cup, and Banks, who became a legend with both clubs during his playing days.
Taken from the interview with Barry Corr, the striker said: “I’ve got a good goalscoring record playing in this competition.
“Maybe it is because every game in this competition is something of a special occasion knowing that if you can win and progress, you’ve got a chance to meet a Premier League club in the competition.
“That’s happened to us this year after a couple of close misses so I’m absolutely delighted. We had the chance to play Liverpool and then Chelsea, so it’s great to be able to take on Hull City this year and I’m sure it will be another brilliant game at Roots Hall.
“I was really pleased to be able to get on the score sheet against Millwall in the last round.
“My goalscoring record this season hasn’t been as good as I’d have liked but I’ve got two in my last two home games now and hopefully I can continue that for the rest of the season.”
There’s also a look back to when Blues beat Hull City 3-0 on the same date (January 25th) in 1980, as well as other results on that day.
We have another youth update with academy coach Dave Johnson, plus the latest news from the Shrimpers Trust.
