Phil Brown praises Dan Bentley's performance against Chesterfield, as does striker Barry Corr
Phil Brown was full of praise for Dan Bentley after an ‘outstanding display’ in the win against Chesterfield.
Bentley was called into action on a number of occasions after Blues had gone 3-0 ahead, including a penalty save.
And Brown says his goalkeeper was just not going to be beaten.
He said: “We got slightly tired in the final 20 minutes and Chesterfield pressed on and created some chances.
“But Daniel Bentley wasn’t going to be beaten today, it was an outstanding display.
“He was not to be beaten today, his mentality and attitude was second to none.
“His performance today was worthy of Man of the Match for me, even though Ryan Leonard was absolutely fantastic too.
“He’s a young lad but he is full of confidence and made a terrific save from the penalty.”
Barry Corr was also full of praise for Bentley, adding: “He’s been in such good form all season and he was terrific again today.
“Chesterfield were not going to score and he was the main reason for that, he deserved the clean sheet.
“He’s a really hard working lad who has a great attitude so it’s always nice to see him put in a really good performance.”
