Timlin: We will not fall away this time

Michael Timlin defiant as Blues approach crucial stage of the season looking to turn things around

Michael Timlin insists Blues will not fall away from the play-off places this season as it approaches it’s latter stages.

Blues have struggled in recent weeks and in the past couple of seasons, they’ve fallen off the pace as it reached the last couple of months.

Despite the poor run, midfielder Timlin says he has the belief in the squad to turn it around, and not fall away.

He said: “It’s unthinkable. We’re not even thinking about a scenario like that at all, we believe we can win every game between now and the end of the season.

“I’m confident in the boys, and the squad, to get into the play-offs at the very least, but our only focus at the moment is this Saturday against Wycombe.

“We need to make sure we get the result on Saturday whether that means playing well or not.

“If we can get the result, and get us back on track, it will give the fans and the lads belief that we’re back at it.”

Timlin insists that while confidence may have been knocked, Blues should still be full of belief, and that the team spirit will shine through.

He added: “Confidence may have been knocked a little bit throughout the squad because it has been a tough period.

“Personally though I’m confident every time we step on the pitch and into battle with another team.

“We should be because we’ve shown what a good team we are this season and just maybe need a bit of luck.

“We’ll stay together as a group, there’s a great team spirit, and work as hard as ever to put things right.”
