Three changes for the trip to Northampton Town for Blues

Southend United manager Phil Brown made three changes for the trip to Northampton Town, following the 0-0 draw with York City.

Adam Thompson missed out with a calf injury, Cian Bolger had returned to Bolton through injury, while Kevan Hurst dropped down to the bench.

Mark Phillips, Marc Laird and Lee Barnard were the three men to come in, as Blues went back to a 4-4-2 formation.

Barnard was in attack alongside Corr, with Phillips partnered by John White at the heart of the defence.

Ryan Leonard moved to right-back, making way for Laird to come into the middle of midfield.

Youngsters Jack Payne, Jason Williams and Josh Banton were all on the bench.

Blues: Bentley; Leonard, White, Phillips, Coker; Atkinson, Laird, Timlin, Straker; Corr, Barnard.

Subs: Smith, Banton, Payne, Williams, Eastwood, Gomis, Hurst.
