Freddy Eastwood could make his 200th Blues appearance if he plays against Hartlepool United on Tuesday night
Freddy Eastwood will make his 200th appearance for Southend United if he features against Hartlepool United on Tuesday night.
The striker made it 199 after coming off the bench against Exeter City on Saturday, and we’ve got an exclusive interview with Freddy in Tuesday’s programme.
The 30-year-old discusses his memories with Southend United, how he’s hoping to play a major role between now and the end of the season, and how he would love to make it a promotion hat-trick with Blues.
Speaking exclusively to Blues, he said: “I wasn’t too aware that I was coming up to 200 appearances for the club but I knew I must’ve been quite close to that because I’ve been here for a lot of my career.
“I have had spells away from Roots Hall, but the club has always been the one closest to my heart and the one I’ve most enjoyed my football with.
“Over the years here I’ve achieved quite a lot and look back with fond memories at the two promotions during my first spell.
“But after coming back I always wanted to make it a hat-trick and we’ve got a real chance this season.
“It was really frustrating to pick up an injury having been playing regularly and scoring regularly at the start of the season.
“Hopefully I can play an important part in helping the club get promotion, which is what we all want to achieve.”
There’s also an interview with goalkeeper Ted Smith on his latest England call-up, the thoughts of manager Phil Brown and captain John White.
We also take a look at our opponents, Hartlepool United, and look back at Blues’ other results on this day.
