Last Time Out: Wycombe Wanderers

28 February 2014

A look back to the previous meeting between Blues and Wycombe

The last time Blues met Wycombe Wanderers, it ended in defeat, as the Chairboys won 2-1 at Adams Park earlier this season.

Headed goals from Dean Morgan and Steven Craig for the hosts, either side of Freddy Eastwood’s fourth in four games, handed them the win.

Blues hit the bar twice in the second-half, but couldn’t find an equaliser as they suffered a second straight defeat on the road.

The opening goal came when Luke Prosser conceded a free-kick that was whipped in dangerously and headed home by Morgan – a former Blues striker.

The response was immediate from Phil Brown’s side as Eastwood finished from Ryan Leonard’s excellent run.

Prosser and John White both had chances to give Blues the lead before Wycombe regained the advantage.

Blues were furious a corner was given, but from it, Craig leapt highest to head past Dan Bentley after the ball had been helped back into the area.

In the second-half, Eastwood had a header tipped beyond the post before White had an effort cleared off the line.

Anthony Straker then hit the bar after good work from Kevan Hurst.

Morgan then hit the bar for the hosts late on, but the two was enough to seal the win for Wycombe.
