A look back to the last time Blues played Mansfield Town
Blues produced a dominant performance the last time we met Mansfield, beating the Stags 3-0 at Roots Hall.
The win would mark the start of an unbeaten November, winning five games, and drawing once.
Blues had just been beaten by Newport County, but made a great start against the other newly promoted side.
Anthony Straker opened the scoring from a Kevan Hurst cross in the 25th minute.
James Alabi, making his Stags debut, was then sent off for the visitors for a high tackle on Luke Prosser.
Blues themselves were then reduced to ten men in the 40th minute, as Conor Clifford was shown a straight red for a tackle on Calvin Andrew.
More drama followed as Blues went 2-0 ahead just before half-time.
Ryan Leonard’s cross was inadvertently headed backwards by Jamie McGuire and goalkeeper Alan Marriott could only catch the ball after it had already crossed the line.
Blues’ dominance continued in the second-half but was made even easier when Lee Beevers was sent off late on.
The win was rounded off by Kevan Hurst as his deflected strike beat Marriott following an excellent 23-pass move from Blues.
