Daniel Bentley pleased to pick up his 13th clean sheet of the campaign
For Daniel Bentley, it was lucky number 13 as Blues picked up their 13th shutout of the season in the 1-1 draw at York City.
After a disappointing few games for Blues in terms of goals conceded, Bentley was happy the Minstermen out at Bootham Crescent.
But he was frustrated Blues were unable to get back to winning ways in a game he admitted was flat in the main.
“It’s frustrating because we created so many chances against Hartlepool on Tuesday,” he said. “Today though was just pretty flat all round.
“It wasn’t for a lack of trying, but York are in good form at the moment and they made it difficult for us.
“For me personally and the defenders the clean sheet is great, that’s what we’re here to do and we know if we do that, we won’t lose.
“It has been a frustrating few games, we’ve conceded a few sloppy goals and a couple of world class ones.
“So to get back to clean sheets and make it 13 for the season is great.
“I’ve got a target, which I will keep to myself, but we’re certainly on track in that sense.”
Bentley believes a turn of luck can help Blues get back to winning ways at Northampton Town on Tuesday night.
“I think that bit of fortune or luck just isn’t with us going forward at the moment,” he said.
“We created so many chances against Hartlepool and came up against a defence who just threw their bodies at everything.
“Today we had a few half chances and we were within inches of an own goal going for us today.
“We’ve just got to keep working hard, which we did at York to keep a clean sheet and build on that at Northampton. Our luck will turn and so will our form.”
