Bentley: 50 up for goalkeeper

26 February 2014

Goalkeeper made his 50th appearance for Blues at Northampton

Goalkeeper Daniel Bentley made his 50th appearance for Southend United against Northampton Town on Tuesday night.

The goalkeeper, who signed a new three-year deal with the club this summer, has missed just one game this season – the JPT defeat to Dagenham & Redbridge.

The 20-year-old has kept 13 clean sheets so far this campaign, the latest coming against York City on Saturday.

He has also saved two penalties so far this season – against Northampton Town and Chesterfield, both in the league.

Bentley is a product of the club's excellent youth academy, and you can play your part in helping future players like Dan get into the first team.

To do so, check out our Blues Lottery page on the official website and sign up today.

Congratulations, Dan!
