The Blues boss pleased to add another Manager of the Month trophy to his collection.
Southend United boss Phil Brown admits that he is delighted to pick up the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month award – for the second time this season – but is quick to lay the praise at the door of his players.
When the Gaffer picked up the award for September, in early October, he said another 'four or five' awards would have Blues well placed come the end of the campaign.
“I did say that, didn't I! I've made it two, but it's the players who have made it two,” Brown beamed.
“As staff, we analysed what happened in October and what happened in November and took a hard look at whilst we had a feast in one month and famine in another one. There's all sorts of variations as to why you win and why you lose games of football, whether that be personnel, tactics, formations.
“In the middle of it all, we had an unfortunate result against Chester, but I think the Football League has the league form that they judge it on. I have to take my hat off to the players."
And Brown was especially pleased that David Worrall made it a Southend double as he earned the Player of the Month honour in Sky Bet League Two.
“I'm delighted for David Worrall to win the Player of the Month award. After a slow start, David's really coming into his own now and he's been in great form recently.
“We're coming up to a really difficult December. We know how important this stage of the season is, and we have four tough games against Wycombe Wanderers, Burton Albion, Cambridge United and Dagenham & Redbridge. We must kick on now.”
