A look ahead to the match preview for the Sky Bet League Two encounter against Burton Albion.
It’s been a very good start to this season for the Brewers, who currently find themselves in second place.
The Brewers started their season like a steam train, going unbeaten in their opening nine games in all competitions – a time that saw the club defeat Wigan Athletic and then QPR in the Capital One Cup.
Manager Gary Rowett recently took over the reigns at Sky Bet Championship side Birmingham City recently, which saw former Chelsea striker Hasselbaink appointed as the boss. Albion are still going strong, however, and are sitting in second place in the table at the moment – level on points with Wycombe Wanderers.

The Inside View
Dave Penney: “It's another tough game against Burton but we're looking forward to it. You can see what a good job Gary Rowett did there and for the last three years or so they've been up there in the play-off places. It will be a good test for us and I'm sure it will be an open and entertaining game.”
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink: “They've got somebody with a lot of experience as a manager, knows what he's doing and knows the way he wants his team to play, so I do see Southend as one of the teams who will be up there at the end of the season.”
