Betting Preview: Cambridge United vs. Southend United

25 December 2014

The betting preview ahead of Blues trip to Cambridge United on Boxing Day.

Cambridge United are enjoying a successful season back in the Sky Bet Football League and they are enjoying a decent spell of form which has seen them go five games unbeaten in all competitions and progress to the third round of the FA Cup.

Richard Money’s side are 18/1 to gain a second consecutive promotion but their opponents are just 9/4 to go up from Sky Bet League 2 and they are the league sponsors’ 7/5 favourites to win this game.

The Blues’ promotion hopes have suffered a minor setback with just one point from their last two games and they need to start getting some goals again sooner rather than later. Under 2.5 goals can be backed at 8/11 but a pacy attack, including loanee strikers Kwesi Appiah and Sullay Kaikai could prove a threat if they can find their scoring boots again.

The Us have kept three clean sheets at home in the league and they are 4/1 to win to nil.

Top Tip: Half-time score of 0-0 at 13/8.
