The programme allows young people to play 11-a-side football alongside either a BTEC in Sport(Levels 1-3) delivered at Roots Hall Stadium, or a Vocational Qualification at Prospects College, including bricklaying, plumbing or electrical installation. The team will play in a regional league and train with UEFA Qualified Coaches, and have direct links to Southend Manor and Canvey Island FC, where matches will be played.

As well as their studies, students train and play for Southend United in the Football League Trust Futsal League (London & South East), competing against other clubs such as Leyton Orient, Crystal Palace and Chelsea. Teams are also given the opportunity to play in the Soccer AM Futsal Cup, which is featured on Sky Sports. This course offers opportunities for students to progress onto university, scholarships in the USA and potential employment with SUCET.
