Southend United are pleased to confirm the signing of Shaquile Coulthirst on a season-long loan from Premier league side Tottenham Hotspur.
The 19-year-old striker joins from Spurs until the end of the 2014-15 campaign.
Shaquile made his debut for Spurs last season in a UEFA Europa League group stage game against Anzhi Makhachkala.
He then went out on loan to Leyton Orient in January 2014, but returned to Spurs a month later having made two appearances, scoring one goal.
The England Under-19 international ended his season on loan at Torquay United, where he scored two goals in five league appearances, despite their relegation to the Conference.
Following his arrival at the club, Coulthirst said: “I’m really pleased to have joined Southend on a season-long loan. It gives me the chance to really make an impression.
“I had a couple of loan spells last season and know what this division is all about, so I can’t wait to start at Accrington Stanley on Saturday.
“There was some interest from other clubs, but I know Southend are one of the biggest in this division so it was an easy decision for me to come here on loan.”
A full interview with Shaquile will be available on Blues Player later.
