John White hopes to end the regular season on a high ahead of the play-offs
John White wants to end the regular season on a high against Burton Albion at Roots Hall to set Blues up nicely for the play-offs.
Blues got the point they needed against Fleetwood Town last weekend to secure a play-off spot.
But White now wants Blues to finish the regular season with a win, to lift them higher up the table.
He said: “We put a marker down with the 1-1 draw against Fleetwood Town last weekend, and I thought we were unlucky not to win the game, so we’ll be wanting another similar performance this afternoon, to show Burton exactly who we are.
"Against the better sides in the division we’ve actually done very well, and other than Scunthorpe United, we’ve picked up a win against everyone else in the automatic and play-off places.
“That is a little bit frustrating, because if our form against the teams in the bottom half had been slightly better, who knows where we would be heading into Saturday's game."
While the play-offs are secured, White says Blues aren't focused on them just yet, and are just looking at Burton.
He added: "We want to finish the season on a high and we’re not thinking about the play-offs until this game is finished, and we want to finish as high up the table as possible.
“I’ve never been involved in a play-off game, but I can’t wait for it. I know all the lads are the same. There’s a lot of experience in the group, but not a huge amount of play-off experience.
