John White believes Blues are finding their form at just the right time
John White believes Blues are hitting form at just the right time, following the comeback win against Cheltenham Town on Saturday.
That win made it three in a row, and extended the unbeaten run to six games ahead of AFC Wimbledon this weekend.
After recovering from a disappointing run of 12 games without a win, White says Blues are back to their best with just five games left – and potentially three in the play-offs.
He said: “We’ve shown in the last few weeks that we’re getting back to our best and with five games left, momentum is so important.
“We’ve needed to pick up our form and that’s what we’ve done, it’s great to be going into the next game with three wins in a row.
“I feel like we’re hitting the form at the right time but we’ve got to keep pushing on now and keep going until the end of the season.
“It was tough on Saturday against Cheltenham because we had to come from behind, but we worked hard to get back into the game.
“We’re full of confidence and despite being quite unlucky to go behind we kept playing well and got the rewards.”
White has been part of a back five, including goalkeeper Dan Bentley that has kept four clean sheets in the last five games.
Blues’ skipper has been extremely impressed by young defensive duo Jakub Sokolik and John Egan.
He added: “We have felt very strong at the back in recent weeks and we know we’re in a good position at the moment.
“We’re resilient and always going to work hard. We put everything in front of the ball to stop the goals going in.
“We knew Cheltenham would have a spell on Saturday but we stood firm, it was just disappointing we couldn’t keep a clean sheet.
“The young lads have been excellent since they came in and they are working very hard, you only have to look at the fact we’re unbeaten with them in the side.
“It’s tough for the lads not in the starting line-up at the moment, but everyone will have a big part to play.”
