White: Focus on one game at a time

9 April 2014

John White says Blues can only look to the next game during the end-of-season run-in

John White has said Blues will just focus on one game at a time as they look to cement their place in the League 2 play-offs.

Five games still remain, with three of those to be played at Roots Hall, but White has called for all focus to be on AFC Wimbledon this weekend.

Blues beat the Dons 1-0 on Boxing Day away from home, but White is expecting a difficult test against them once again on Saturday.

He said: “They will come into the game and you’d expect them to stodge the game up and try and slow things down.

“A number of teams have done that to us this season at Roots Hall and more often than not we’ve been able to break them down.

“We’ve been firing on all cylinders in the last few weeks so we’ll be confident we can break them down and score goals.

“We can’t look at any other game at the moment. We’re all worrying about AFC Wimbledon at this moment in time.

“Once we’ve played that, we’ll focus on the next one which is Rochdale away. We can only be looking at the next game.”

With confidence back among the group following three straight wins, White believes Blues are now looking forward to every game they go into.

He added: “Every game we look forward to at this moment in time, it’s another chance to get three points and to keep pushing up the table.

“We’ve just got to win as many of our remaining games as possible and see where that puts us come the end of the season.

“After that disappointing run, it’s nice to have that bit of momentum back in our game at what is a crucial time of the season.”
