A look back to Southend United's last meeting with Cheltenham Town
Southend United were denied a sixth straight win as Cheltenham Town scored a 96th minute penalty to earn a 1-1 draw at Roots Hall.
Kevan Hurst gave Blues the lead at the break after tucking the ball away from close range in the 41st minute.
It seemed that goal would be enough to hand Blues the three points, but an Anthony Straker handball deep into stoppage time gave the Robins a chance to level.
Matt Richards duly obliged, sending Daniel Bentley the wrong way from 12-yards, to earn his side a share of the spoils.
It meant Phil Brown’s side ended the month with five wins and one draw.
Blues: Bentley; White, Kiernan, Prosser, Coker; Atkinson, Laird, Timlin; Hurst, Corr, Straker
Subs: Clifford for Laird (73); Thompson for Hurst (88). Not used: Smith, Phillips, Reid, Njie, Payne.
