Job Title: Participation Officer
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours a week Salary: £17 – 22k per annum
Location: Southend United Football Club
Responsible to: Southend United Community and Educational Trust (SUCET) Chief Executive Officer
To increase and widen participation in sporting activities amongst children and young people within schools and community settings, with the associated benefits that this brings to the individual Develop a coordinated programme, with a range of inclusive activities that promotes sports participation to children and young people.
To ensure that SUCET develops meaningful and long lasting links with schools and community groups in South Essex in order to work in partnership to achieve shared objectives.
To work with key partners to increase and improve sustainable participation opportunities for children, young people, clubs, coaches and volunteers.
Create a coordinated programme of activities which encourages healthy lifestyle, education and community cohesion through the vehicle of a professional football club.
To support and encourage members of the community to participate in sport and physical activity and help them to create a positive identity with the associated benefits of health and well being.
To manage, support and mentor the community coaches, apprentices and volunteers of SUCET. Encouraging a culture of continuous improvement
To plan and facilitate match day activities for young people and partners to help raise awareness.
To utilise SUFC resources such as tickets, player appearances, social media and branding for the purposes of marketing and fan base growth.
To actively promote and participate in relevant Continuing Professional Development opportunities.
To organise and manage competitions for young people to participate in.
To complete reports, monitoring and evaluation where necessary.

To keep records of financial spend and maintain records, statistics and information, both quantitative and qualitative, for monitoring purposes and contribute to the on-going development of the organisation.
The post holder will be required to work some evening and weekends as the requirements of the job demands
To undertake other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time commensurate with the grade of the post.
