Phil Brown on Kevan Hurst, John White, Paul Smith and Ryan Leonard
Phil Brown is hopeful Paul Smith, Ryan Leonard, Kevan Hurst and John White will all be ready for Saturday’s game against AFC Wimbledon at Roots Hall.
Hurst and Smith are struggling with calf injuries, while White picked up a knock on his hamstring against Cheltenham Town, and Leonard is having some ankle difficulties.
Brown though is confident they will be ready and raring to go when the Dons roll into town on Saturday afternoon, as his side looks to make it four straight wins.
He said; “Kevan Hurst got a kick on his calf in the game against Cheltenham Town but he should be okay for Saturday’s game.
“Paul Smith has got a bit of a tear on his calf, so we’re not sure about him, but Luke Chambers will step in again if need be.
“John White picked up a kick on his hamstring against Cheltenham Town and he was aware of that in the second-half.
“But he has come through two or three days of intensive treatment and should be okay to play on Saturday.
“Ryan Leonard has taken an awful lot of stick off the opposition so far this season. He’s a big strong player in midfield.
“Opposition teams are looking at that, and the fact he has scored goals, he gets on the end of things, has a long throw and gets into both boxes well.
“He’s been identified by opposition and he’s a big player for us, so it’s important we wrap him up in cotton wool and try to get him ready for Saturday.”
