Dave Penney on the importance of Blues' substitutes
Assistant manager Dave Penney says those who come off the bench at Bury on Saturday must make an impact on the game.
Penney feels Blues’ substitutues haven’t done enough to help change the game when coming on so far this season, apart from Kevan Hurst.
Dave also says that should they come on and make their mark, just like Kevan did, they will show they are ready to be starting.
He said: “There’s some good players on the bench. Barry Corr, Craig Reid, Conor Clifford and Anthony Straker were on there on Friday and they are all in the equation for a start on Saturday.
“What we’ve got to get from our substitutes is an impact when they get on the pitch.
“I don’t think substitutes have come on and had an impact on the game, other than Kevan Hurst at Wycombe, as much as we would have liked.
“We need whoever is on the bench to come on and have a real impact, like Kevan did at Wycombe, and tell the manager they are ready to start the next game.”
