Future Blues: Sammy visits Blenheim

30 September 2013

Sammy The Shrimp visits one of our Future Blues schools to deliver their tickets

Sammy The Shrimp paid Blenheim Primary School a surprise visit on Friday 27th September.

Sammy delivered nearly 200 tickets to the school as part of our Future Blues initiative.

The school children were all at the game on Friday night to cheer Blues on.

Head Teacher Darren Woollard said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to get children interested in football and supporting their local club.

“We’re passionate about sport at Blenheim and grateful to Southend United for their continued focus on working with the community.”

Marketing Manager Ryan Murrant, who went along with Sammy, added: “It was great to see so many smiley faces. We need Southend United to be famous in the area and make sure the next generation of supporters are coming to Roots Hall.

“It was great to be able to take Sammy along to meet them all. The Community Trust are fantastic, and a great marketing vehicle for the club.

“We’re going to be engaging with schools throughout the season so there’s plenty more to come from the Future Blues scheme.”
