Brown: Score to settle in FA Cup

Brown wants Blues to end winless run against Morecambe in the FA Cup

Phil Brown has said it’s time to get one over Jim Bentley when Blues face Morecambe in the FA Cup first round on November 9th.

Bentley’s Shrimps have won twice against Brown’s Blues since he took over and the boss says he’s got a score to settle.

Having lost 3-1 in the league earlier this season at Roots Hall, Brown knows it’s not going to be easy for his side at the Globe Arena.

He said: “I was on the radio when the draw was being made and I immediately thought – another long journey!

“I think 17 out of the 23 games this season in the league are over three hours away and Morecambe is one of the longest.

“It does give us the chance to settle a score with Morecambe as Jim’s side have beaten us both times since I’ve been here as manager.

“He’s got a strong squad and we sampled their capabilities when they beat us at Roots Hall.

“We have to be prepared mentally and physically for the trip to the Globe Arena.

“First though we’ve got to look to get back to winning ways in the league when we welcome Mansfield on Friday night.”
