York: Boss helps out in Ticket Office

20 November 2013

Phil Brown and John White help out in the Ticket Office ahead of York CIty

Blues boss Phil Brown and skipper John White played their part in helping raise the profile of Saturday's game against York City by helping out in the Ticket Office.

Phil and John sold tickets for Saturday's £5 game and chatted with customers ahead of the big match.

John said: "It was great to help out, but I think I'll stick to football instead of taking calls on the phone.

"All the players are really looking forward to welcoming a big crowd on Saturday."

Phil added: "It's always nice to play a part in helping to generate more interest in the game.

"I had a good chat with a number of fans and sold tickets for the match which we are all looking forward to."

Marketing Manager Ryan Murrant said: “For Phil and his management team to be involved in selling tickets is fantastic.

“The response we have had from the fans already has been great with people coming to help hand out fliers in the local community.

“We have also seen local shops getting on board to help raise awareness throughout Southend. We’d like a gate of over 8,000 on Saturday so there’s still work to be done.”

Saturday will also see lots of activities for children outside the ground ahead of kick-off. We’ll be welcoming back the EA Sports Dugout which proved a huge success at our game against Scunthorpe United.

The Community Trust will also be running some football skill games so if you have young children head down early to join in.
