Ryan Leonard is replaced by Marc Laird due to injury while Barry Corr comes in for Cauley Woodrow.
Southend United boss Phil Brown made two changes from the 2-0 win against Exeter City last weekend for the visit of York City.
Barry Corr, who dropped to the bench at St James Park through illness, was back in the starting line-up at the expense of Cauley Woodrow.
And Marc Laird made his first start since August 17th as he came in for Ryan Leonard who picked up a hamstring injury in training in midweek.
Adam Thompson was back from international duty with Northern Ireland’s under-21 side and he was named among the substitutes.
That meant Blues lined with Dan Bentley in goal, a back four of John White, Rob Kiernan, Luke Prosser and Ben Coker.
In midfield it was Laird, Will Atkinson and Michael Timlin, who was making his 100th appearance for Southend United.
Corr was joined in attack by Kevan Hurst and Anthony Straker.
Freddy Eastwood was still out injured while there was also a place on the bench for youth team midfielder Jack Bridge.
Blues: Bentley; White, Kiernan, Prosser, Coker; Laird, Atkinson, Timlin; Straker, Corr, Hurst
Subs: Smith, Payne, Reid, Bridge, Thompson, Woodrow, Phillips.
