Blues' team news ahead of the game against Cheltenham Town at Roots Hall
Southend United manager Phil Brown made two changes from Tuesday night’s win at Pompey for the visit of Cheltenham Town to Roots Hall.
Kevan Hurst was back from the start, having been suspended for the game at Fratton Park, while Marc Laird was also in the starting line-up after making an impact in the midweek win from the bench.
The two to drop out were Conor Clifford and Adam Thompson, who were both named among the substitutes.
Hurst was back on the right of a front three, while Will Atkinson who scored on Tuesday, was back in the midfield three.
The back four remained the same with Rob Kiernan and Luke Prosser centrally, John White on the right and Ben Coker on the left.
Despite a broken tooth and a cut above the eye, Barry Corr was fit enough to start the game in attack.
Blues: Bentley; White, Kiernan, Prosser, Coker; Laird, Timlin, Atkinson; Straker, Hurst; Corr
Subs: Smith, Payne, Njie, Reid, Clifford, Thompson, Phillips
