Blues: Michael Timlin exclusive

29 November 2013

Midfielder talks exclusively to Blues, our official matchday programme, on Saturday

Our official matchday programme for the game against Cheltenham Town on Saturday features an exclusive interview with midfielder Michael Timlin.

The midfielder talks about his return to the side, what helped him get over his serious injury mentally and why he’s delighted to have made 100 appearances for Southend United.

Here’s a small preview of that exclusive interview:

Timlin said: “I’d recovered physically in really good time and was well ahead of schedule, as I usually am when I’m out injured but this time it was different.

“I don’t think I was prepared mentally and it was still playing on my mind.

“Sometimes it takes one big tackle or scoring a goal, but for me, the talk I had with the manager was a massive help.

“The belief he has shown in me since day one has been brilliant and it’s played a big role in getting me back out there on a regular basis now.”

There’s also an interview with Jack Bridge who made the first-team bench for the first time on Saturday against York City.

We also have Phil Brown and John White’s columns, the latest from the youth team and much more.

Make sure you pick up a copy of Blues on Saturday for just £3 from the north-east programme hut.
