Armed Forces welcomed this evening

1 November 2013

Parade around the pitch before the game in memory of those who lost their lives

At tonight's game we will be welcoming the troops from the British Legion, Southend Air Cadets, Southend Army Cadet Force and Southend's Army Unit.

The troops will be parading around the pitch tonight in memory of those who have lost their lives serving their country ahead of Remembrance Day on November 11th.

Please show your support this evening when Blues take on Mansfield Town at Roots Hall.

The 1312 Southend Air Cadets will be leading the parade, with the Southend Army Cadet Force and the 33 Engineer Regiment of Southend's Army unit also showing their support.

The minister of state for Armed Forces the Rt. Hon Mark Francois MP will be the guest of honour tonight and the lead minute silence before the game.

The Essex Military Support Association have kindly arranged this event and brought our armed forces and communities closer together.

Army recruitment officers will be on hand at the stadium if you wish to sign up.
