Each year, the FA allocates funds from the FA Charity Shield Fund Distribution to clubs to distribute to local charities.
This year Southend United have donated our share of the fund to the Community & Educational Trust here at the Club to continue their excellent work in the community of Southend.
On Saturday, Chief Executive Steve Kavanagh presented Dale Spiby, Chief Executive of the Coommunity & Educational Trust a cheque for £2,000. That money comes from an equal distribution among the 124 clubs who participated in the First Round Proper of the FA Cup last season.
The remainder of the fund will be donated to Teenage Cancer Trust, the chosen charity partner of the FA.
