Future Blues continues on Saturday

1 March 2013

Our Lady of Lourdes School pupils coming to Roots Hall this weekend

The Club’s Future Blues initiative will continue this weekend as we welcome the pupils from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary School.

Nearly 200 people will come to watch Blues’ game against Rotherham United as part of the joint scheme between the Club and the Community Trust.

The scheme aims to create future fans by inviting them along to some of Blues’ games throughout the season.

Once they’ve experienced Roots Hall once, it’s hoped they will want to continue to come back, creating a future generation of fans.

12 of the children will form a Guard of Honour by the tunnel to welcome the two teams onto the pitch.

If you would like your school to get involved, please email Ben Duncan (participation@southendunited-cet.co.uk) or call on 01702 341351.

There are plenty of other events going on for youngsters on Saturday and club mascots Elvis J Eel and Sammy the Shrimp will also be there to meet and greet all our young fans.
