Ben Reeves extends loan with Blues

15 March 2013

Midfielder stays with us for a further two months

We are delighted to announce that Ben Reeves has extended his stay with the Club for a further two months.

Ben initially joined on a month’s loan spell which expired after the game against Barnet last month.

He remained with Blues to continue his development and he has now extended his stay at Roots Hall.

Ben has scored two goals for the Club since he joined, the first against Cheltenham Town in a 2-1 defeat and the second, of course, to send Blues to the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final at Wembley.

Paul Sturrock said: “We are delighted to be keeping Ben with us for an extra two months.

“He did really well during his first month with us and gives us something a little bit different.

“Ben of course scored the important goal to send us to Wembley and he will now be able to play a part in that big day.

“Most importantly though, he will be a big help in our push until the end of the season in League 2.”

Ben said:  “The renewal has been delayed so I can play until the end of the season here at Roots Hall.

“It’s been frustrating not being able to help the lads out on the pitch but I’m delighted to be staying here for a further two months.

“Obviously we have some big games in the league coming up and the big game at Wembley.”

Ben will be available for selection for tomorrow’s game against Torquay United.
