We take a look at where Blues will be travelling to throughout the 2013/14 season.
Blues begin their seasonal road trips with a voyage to one of Phil Brown’s old clubs, newly-relegated Hartlepool United.
The Blues boss spent seven years at Pools, appearing over 200 games for the club, and will go back to Victoria Park with his team on 10th August. Two weeks later and we hit the road again, this time to Chesterfield on 24th August, to take on Paul Cook’s side, before visiting Wycombe Wanderers seven days later.
The month of September sees Blues on their travels only once from four games, heading north to play another newcomer to League 2, Kevin Blackwell’s Bury, on the 21st.
The following month takes us to the Kassam Stadium on 5th October to do battle with Oxford United, a then a trip to Staffordshire a week later as we play Burton Albion. The final Saturday of the month takes Blues to Wales as we take on the Blue Square Premier play-off winners, Newport County.
Blues travel to Devon to face Exeter City on 16th November before a visit to Fratton Park is in order on 26th when we take on Portsmouth.
The 14th December sees us head back down to the south-west to play Torquay United. Blues will be hoping for a similar scoreline after last season’s 4-1 win. On Boxing Day we make the journey to Kingston to play AFC Wimbledon, another place where we achieved an excellent win in 2012/13, winning 4-0. Four days later we play Accrington Stanley at the Crown Ground.
The turn of the year soon sees us hit the road again, making the long trek to Plymouth Argyle on the 11th January, before two quick fire away games at Northampton Town, on the 25th, and Dagenham & Redbridge on the 28th.
On the 8th February we visit another new ground when we head to Mansfield Town, finishing the month with the long journey to York City, which in 2012/13 was the final away game of the season.
Three long journeys await us in March. On the 8th, we travel to Lancashire for a game against Morecambe, prior to crossing the country to face Scunthorpe United three days later. The 22nd March takes us to Bristol Rovers for a match against John Ward’s side.
The penultimate month of the season sees us face Cheltenham Town on the 5th at Whaddon Road and Rochdale away on the 19th. We finish with the trek to Fleetwood Town on the 26th April.
