Blues Lottery to be re-launched

12 July 2013

Funding the legacy of Southend United's Youth Development

The Blues Lottery is to undergo a re-launch and restructure to make it fit to serve the Club and provide a lasting legacy for the Youth Development of Southend United.

The launch will be at this Sunday's Meet the Blues Day.

The scheme has existed and been supported by a number loyal supporters for a number of years but its existence has suffered from a lack of vitality and vision.

Numbers have dwindled and the restructuring is intended to address concerns of fans and to help drive the investment in the Academy and help produce more future stars, similar to Dan Bentley and the latest crop; Mitch Pinnock, Seedy Njie and Ryan Auger.

By investing in the lottery the aim is you can win a cash prize and at the same time have ownership of the youth as they develop and feel in some way you have assisted in their development.

The half time 50/50 draw is also to now fall under the Lottery’s control meaning that for just £1 you can also invest in youth and do you bit to help create a lasting legacy.

What is the The Blues Lottery?

The Blues Lottery is an independently managed fundraising scheme to help to ensure that Southend United FC attract and retain the best local youngsters.

By becoming a Blues Lottery member you will have the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes and receive discounts and priority ticket purchase opportunities, while investing in the Southend United Youth Academy and creating a lasting legacy that will underpin future first team squads.

For just £10 per month you will assist in providing the ring fenced income that will ensure the Academy is funded in a way that allows it to flourish and grow.

The Prizes

There will be a prize draw at each Blues home game. The draws will continue during the close season. You will have the opportunity to win one of the following.

1) First Prize - £250 to be presented pitch side at the next home league match. Once we reach 500 members the prize will be a minimum of £500 (the amount will continue to increase as and when Lottery membership grows).
2) Second Prize - Two tickets for a home League match in the Directors’ Box with access to the Platinum Suite pay bar
3) Third prize – Four people will win the chance to visit the Training Ground watch the team train and have lunch with the players
4) Ten people every match will win a £10 voucher to spend at our local Papa Johns (there will be no need to kick a football through the eye of a needle to win this!!)

We want as many people as possible to win and will therefore be allocating games as bonus draws with added prizes such as ‘An Away Directors’ Box Experience’ and other special one-off prizes.
