A quick look at tonight's friendly with Bishop's Stortford
Phil Brown has said he will look to get 60 minutes from some of his players at tonight’s game against Bishop’s Stortford.
With Blues playing Braintree tomorrow, Brown says those who play 60 minutes this evening will play 30 at the Amlin Stadium and vice versa.
He said: “We have obviously got two games in two days, but instead of just doing two 45 minutes again I’d like to see the players go for 60 minutes.
“So those that play 60 minutes against Bishop’s Stortford tonight will play 30 against Braintree, it’ll be the whole of the first team squad again.
“These games against non-league opposition are very important as we build up towards facing the likes of Real Madrid’s C team and QPR.
“We’ve been working the players hard, and they will have a session in the morning before tonight’s game.
“I was pleased with how they all dealt with the conditions on Saturday, it’ll be cooler this time around so they will probably have a bit more in their locker.
“There will be a few trialists who feature again as I want to give them as much of an opportunity as possible to impress us.
“So these two games could well be crucial for them because by the time Chelmsford comes around next Monday I would like to see a number of the players playing 90 minutes.”
Midfielder Will Atkinson is in line to make his first appearance in a Blues shirt while goalkeeper Paul Smith and Mitchell Pinnock may be back fit.
Tickets for the game tonight are available on the gate.
