Become a part of Southend United's future
Southend United’s new initiative that offers youngsters the chance to become part of the Club’s future will kick-off on Saturday.
Future Blues, a joint initiative run by the Club and Southend United’s Community and Educational Trust, will see local primary schoolchildren given the opportunity to come and watch some of our League 2 matches.
Launching for the game against Oxford, pupils from Hamstel Junior, Barons Court Primary and Earls Hall Junior will be welcomed to Roots Hall.
12 lucky children will be given the opportunity to form the guard of honour by the tunnel to welcome the two teams onto the pitch.
Other Future Blues games will be for our fixture versus Northampton Town in February with more taking place throughout the rest of the season.
Chief executive Steve Kavanagh said: “Southend has some very impressive Community initiatives it undertakes and we are expanding these so that local children can get to see their local Football Club and hopefully they will become our next generation of supporters.”
If you would like your school to get involved, please contact Ben Duncan on 01702 341351 or email email@example.com.
There are plenty of other events going on for youngsters on Saturday and club mascots Elvis J Eel and Sammy the Shrimp will also be there to meet and greet all our young fans.
