Cresswell and Timlin up for the cup
Ryan Cresswell cannot wait to make his first ever appearance in the FA Cup third round against Brentford on Saturday.
And the defender has backed Blues to bounce back from successive defeats and allow him to experience the fourth round for the very first time by beating Brentford at Roots Hall.
“Everyone loves the FA Cup,” he said. “It’s the first time I’m ever going to be playing in the third round so I’m looking forward to it.
“It’s probably come at the right time for us after two defeats which has been difficult to take, but I’m confident we can bounce back.
“We’ve beaten Brentford once already this season, but we know this is going to be a very tough game, we’ll have both done our homework ahead of it.
“There would be no better way to respond from the defeats than winning in front of the home fans in the FA Cup third round.”
Midfielder Michael Timlin added that Blues want to repay the fans following the poor first-half display against Gillingham.
“Anything can happen in the FA Cup, and it’s going to be a difficult game. It’s going to be a big one for us as players, but also for the Club because you just don’t know what could await in the next round.
“The fans deserve better than what they watched for the first-half on Tuesday against Gillingham and hopefully we can make it up to them with a win in the FA Cup against Brentford.”
