Future Blues a huge success

4 February 2013

Three schools enjoy trip to Roots Hall Stadium

Our Future Blues initiative got off a great start on Saturday as pupils from Barons Court Primary, Hamstel Junior and Earls Hall Junior watched Blues win 1-0 against Oxford.

12 lucky pupils formed the Guard of Honour for the players as they entered the pitch before the game.

The Family Stand was also packed to the brim with young fans and their families who we hope we will see again at Roots Hall in the near future.

Other Future Blues games will be for our fixture versus Northampton Town in February with more taking place throughout the rest of the season.
Chief executive Steve Kavanagh said: “Southend has some very impressive Community initiatives it undertakes and we are expanding these so that local children can get to see their local Football Club and hopefully they will become our next generation of supporters.”
