Striker says he's back to full fitness and now wants to find the back of the netBlues striker Britt Assombalonga says he is close to reaching full fitness, and now he's hoping he can start finding the back of the net again.
Britt endured a difficult spell on the sidelines following an injury he picked up at Dagenham & Redbridge. His last goal came in a 3-1 home win against Rochdale at the end of November.
The youngster is hoping he can end that spell without a goal against Cheltenham Town on Tuesday evening - a team he has already scored against once this season.
Speaking ahead of the game, he said: "I've had to try and get back to full fitness quite quickly. I've played in three games now and got some good minutes under my belt so I think I am almost there.
"It's frustrating because me and Gavin had formed a good partnership before my injury and now he's out of the side after picking up a knock of his own.
"Hopefully he can get back fit as soon as possible because he's a big player for the team and we were linking up pretty well together.
"I've scored against Cheltenham once already this season in the 3-1 win at their place. We know they are going to be a very strong side and we're going to have to be at our best if we are to beat them.
"Hopefully we can get the three points and I can get back on the scoresheet. I had a spell earlier in the season where I went a few games without scoring.
"That was really the first time I've been in that position so I know now that I just have to be patient and I will get that chance before long.
"And when I do I'm confident I will take it."
With Gavin out injured, should a chance come from the penalty spot, Britt says he'll be stepping up to take it.
He added: "If we do get a penalty then I will step up to take it definitely. I've still got my confidence in front of goal so will have no problem stepping up to take it.
"However it comes I will be happy because I'm desperate to get back amongst the scorers, it's been quite a while now."
An interview with Britt will be available on Blues Player today.
