Bilel Mohsni will remain with the Club until the end of the season
Bilel Mohsni will remain at Roots Hall until the end of the season, Blues boss Paul Sturrock has said.
Mohsni will serve a three-game ban for his red card against Northampton Town at the weekend so will be unavailable for Blues’ game against Leyton Orient on Wednesday.
Mohsni, who trained with the rest of the team today, has also said he will remain with the Club until the end of the season and hopes he can play a big part in promotion.
Sturrock said: “Bilel has come back to the Club and he will remain with us for the rest of the season.
“He looked very good on Saturday up until he got the red card which he was a bit unfortunate with. Both he and their lad went in high, but Bilel was just a bit late.
“We won’t be appealing the card, because I’ve looked at it from four or five angles and it’s hard to argue with it.
“But he’s in with us today and is training and will remain with us. Once he has served his suspension he will be available for selection again.
“He hasn’t played much first-team football this season so it’s important he gets back to full fitness as soon as possible.
“He can help play a big part in what we want to achieve this season.”
Bilel said: “I want to help Southend get promotion and hopefully a win at Wembley and really show fans what I can do.
“I know some fans are upset with what has happened and getting this red card hasn’t helped.
“But hopefully I can do well in the games when I come back, get some good and help the team get some good results to help everyone like me again.
“The team here is very good, there are some excellent players here and I am sure that we can push for promotion.
“Hopefully the team can win on Wednesday and we can get to Wembley. Crewe are winning 3-0 from the first-leg so if we did beat Orient it would be nice to get some revenge against Crewe in the final.
“I’m very happy to be back here. I will train very hard and hopefully be back in the team after my suspension.”
