7 December 2013

Conor Clifford replaces the suspended Will Atkinson against Chesterfield FC

Southend United manager Phil Brown made one enforced change to his side for the FA Cup trip to Chesterfield in round two.

With Will Atkinson suspended, Conor Clifford came in to midfield in his place.

There was also room for Freddy Eastwood on the bench after he fully recovered from injury.

The rest of the side was unchanged from the draw against Cheltenham Town last weekend, with Dan Bentley in goal.

The back four was John White, Luke Prosser, Rob Kiernan and Ben Coker.

Clifford was joined in midfield by Michael Timlin and Marc Laird, while up top Barry Corr was flanked by Kevan Hurst and Anthony Straker.

Blues: Bentley; White, Kiernan, Prosser, Coker; Timlin, Laird, Clifford; Hurst, Corr, Straker.

Subs: Payne, Smith, Eastwood, Edwards, Reid, Phillips, Thompson
