Southend United's first-team squad visited the children's ward at Southend Hospital on Tuesday.
Phil Brown also went along to put a smile on the faces of the young patients, and hand out some Southend United goodies courtesy of our Community Trust.
Elise Fleetwood, Southend Hospital’s Events and Corporate Relations Manager, said: “Once again we were thrilled to welcome the Southend United FC players and management team onto our children’s ward to lift the spirits of our young patients this Christmas.
“The children well enough for visitors were made up with their Christmas gifts, it was heart-warming to see their little faces brighten up when they met the players.
“We are hugely thankful for the continuous support of Southend United FC.
“We would like to thank Goalkeeper; Daniel Bentley in particular for the time and caring attention he gave to one of our young patients on Neptune ward. Without being asked, he spent additional time chatting, colouring and making our patient giggle. His company and kindness had a very positive impact on both the patient and her parent, we are most grateful for his kindness.”
Blues' Freddy Eastwood said: "It was a great afternoon at the hospital and nice to be able to put a smile on the faces of the children in the ward."
