Manager already looking ahead to next Saturday's game
Phil Brown says his players will respond against Wycombe Wanderers next Saturday after suffering a last-gasp defeat to Chesterfield this weekend.
Blues responded excellently at the Proact Stadium to going a goal behind, and Brown says his young side will respond in the right manner next weekend at Adams Park.
He said: “I know my players and the will respond next weekend. They did that against Chesterfield when they fell a goal behind and we had chances to win the game.
“We don’t want to have that feeling of losing, especially in the final minute, very often so we’re now fully focused on getting back to winning ways next weekend.
“It’s a young team here, they’ve acquitted themselves brilliantly so far this season and will do so again this week in preparation for Wycombe.
“The senior players are helping the junior players and we’re progressing well.
“Wycombe is a bit closer than Chesterfield or Hartlepool so hopefully we can have an even bigger support than we’ve had at those two games.
“The fans have seen we’re trying to play football. They were so close to leaving Chesterfield happy but we’re determined to make sure they leave Wycombe next weekend with a much better feeling than at the Proact.”
