Striker hopes to fire Blues to a win after his red card is overturned
Barry Corr is hoping he can make it up to his team mates this weekend when Blues take on Northampton Town.
Barry was sent off on Saturday at Hartlepool meaning Blues had to play the second-half with ten men. While the red card has been overturned, the striker still wants to repay the rest of the team for their efforts in the game at Victoria Park.
He said: “Northampton are a strong side and Saturday will be tough, but after thinking I was going to miss the game, I’m really looking forward to it. Hopefully I can find the back of the net and help us to another three points – I owe the lads slightly after their performance at Hartlepool.
“As they were going back out for the second-half I spoke to Dan Bentley and a couple of the defenders and said ‘please do me a favour out there this half’. They did just that and were absolutely brilliant. They defended really well and Hartlepool never really looked like scoring.
“If we had lost the game it would’ve been gutting but the lads did really well to pick the three points so no harm has been done. I was just disappointed to miss the whole of the second half as I would like to have got on the scoresheet.
“Hopefully I can make up for lost time this weekend with a goal to help us beat Northampton.”
