On Wednesday night four juveniles were captured on the Club’s CCTV systems trespassing and playing on the pitch at Roots Hall, causing minor damage.
Then on Thursday night five juveniles again entered the ground, trespassing and damaging the pitch.
The Club take this matter extremely seriously and have now notified the police, providing clear images and footage of all five juveniles and they are now dealing with the matter.
The Club takes trespassing on its premises extremely seriously especially when it results in damage to its facilities and the playing surface. Additional security measures have been put in place.
We are deeply disappointed that Southend fans or residents appear willing to behave towards the town's Club in such a manner especially regarding the playing surface at such an important time in the season. As noted above the Club have now placed this matter in the hands of the police who take such issues seriously.
