Ryan Cresswell says that despite disappointed, Blues did well to be at Wembley
Despite the disappointment of losing to Crewe in the JPT Final, Ryan Cresswell believes the players should be proud to have got to the main event at Wembley.
Blues beat two League 1 sides on route to the final, but couldn’t quite produce enough on the day to see off the challenge of Crewe and lift the trophy.
But while Cresswell was understandably disappointed not to have come away with a winners medal, he says the whole squad did fantastically well to get to Wembley.
He said: “Of course we are disappointed because we’ve not won the game and lifted the trophy. The fans were absolutely incredible today and it was a shame they didn’t have something to celebrate.
“But I think the fans will appreciate it was fantastic to reach the final. We should be proud to have got to Wembley because we’ve had to beat some very good teams along the way.
“We did really well to get there and it was just one game too many really. Crewe played well but we had a couple of chances but the just didn’t fall our way.
“We must all be proud to have got to the final and take this experience on board and into the final five games of the season. We need to use this to make us hungrier for the remaining games.
“Once again, thank you to the fans who were unbelievable and hopefully we will give you something to celebrate before the end of the season.”
