Pinnock, Njie & Auger offered pro contracts; Agyakwa, Tatham & Edwards offered development deals
Southend United are delighted to announce that six members of this season’s youth team have been given the opportunity to continue their development with the club.
Mitchell Pinnock and Seedy Njie, two players have made their professional debuts this season have been offered professional contracts, along with Ryan Auger.
Aaron Tatham, Jack Edwards and Marlon Agyakwa have all been offered third-year development deals.
First-team manager Phil Brown said: “I have been working closely with Ricky Duncan since I arrived here at the Club.
“Under his, and Graham Coughlan’s guidance, I am delighted to announce that Seedy, Mitchell and Ryan have been offered professional contracts here at the club next season.
“Three second years, Aaron, Jack and Marlon, have also been given the opportunity to continue their development here for another year.
“It is vitally important that we continue with the development of young players at this club to make sure the future of Southend United is in safe hands.”
Head of Youth Ricky Duncan added: “It’s fantastic that six of the boys so far have been given a chance to continue their development here at Southend United.
“Since Phil came in he has been to a number of the games we’ve had and that’s a big boost for all the players to have the first-team manager watching.
“The six lads have been given the opportunity to continue their development and it’s fantastic for everyone involved in the youth setup that they’ve been given this chance.”
