Striker delighted to be back playing regular football
Freddy Eastwood doesn’t want the current season to end, but says he’ll come back fresh and ready to kick on next campaign under boss Phil Brown.
Freddy has started the previous three games and has been involved in all seven of Brown’s games in charge so far. Having endured a frustrating season, the striker is delighted to finally be getting playing time.
He said: “When a new manager comes in, it can go one of two ways and thankfully for me he’s taken to the why I play and I’ve been able to get a run of games in the team.
“In a way, I wish the season wasn’t coming to an end because it’s great to be playing regular football again and enjoying it.
“The aim now is to go away, have a good pre-season and come back sharper under the new management next season – I’m sure we’ll do well under Phil Brown.
“Hopefully I can go away and go back sharper and fitter and bang in the goals next season. We’re disappointed we’re not pushing for promotion this season but our sole aim now is to achieve that next season.”
Freddy believes the formation Blues have adopted in the previous three games has worked well, and believes with a bit of work over the summer, the formation can thrive next season.
“It’s worked well in the last few games,” he said. “Good things can come from It, it’s a shame we won’t make the play-offs and have more of a chance to get used to the system.
“I’m sure over the summer we will work on it and hopefully we can come back next season really used to the system and we can kick on.
“There’s one game left this season and we’d like to end with a win in front of the home fans because they’ve been brilliant this season and deserve something to cheer about.”
