Ryan delighted to be named in the PFA League 2 Team of the Year
Ryan Cresswell says it was a huge honour to be named by his fellow professionals in the League 2 Team of the Year at the PFA Awards on Sunday night.
Ryan, along with Sean Clohessy, was named in the best League 2 XI for the 2012/13 season and he says it’s one of the best achievements of his career so far.
He said: “It was a fantastic evening and to have my name on the big screen as being part of the League 2 Team of the Year was a great personal achievement.
“It was a special moment for me and I’ll not forget it in a hurry.
“I’ve not been in a Team of the Year before so it’s probably one of my best achievements in my career so far, along with playing at Wembley earlier this season.
“It’s always extra special to be voted for my players you play against week in week out because it shows you’re doing some right.”
Ryan now wants to pick up where he left off when Blues start back up for pre-season in June, and is confident a promotion push is on the cards.
“Personally it’s been a good season for me, I’ve played in 54 matches and scored quite a few goals as well.
“Everyone at the Club and the fans have made me feel really welcome and I settled in very quickly.
“I’ve had a really good time here and I’m thoroughly looking forward to the future.
“We’ve got to work hard over the pre-season but if we reach the targets that Phil Brown sets us then there’s no doubt we have got a good chance of promotion next season.”
