Southend United will be looking to record their third win in seven days when Dagenham and Redbridge visit Roots Hall on Saturday.
Wins against Wycombe (League) and AFC Wimbledon (JPT) mean three points against the Daggers would stretch Paul Sturrock’ sides unbeaten run to four games.
Dagenham meanwhile are still searching for their first win in npower League Two having so far managed just two draws.
Winger Kevan Hurst is available again after missing Tuesday’s 2-1 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy win against AFC Wimbledon with concussion.
Fellow wide man David Martin is unavailable with an ankle problem whilst Freddy Eastwood is also out with a calf injury.
Dagenham will be without midfielders Matt Saunders (ankle) and Kevin Maher (foot) for the clash.
From the Dugout:
Paul Sturrock: “I have had some real good reports about Dagenham this year. They are a young side who are very athletic who will make it a difficult game for us.”
John Still: “It was a good win midweek in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy against Stevenage. We now need to follow that up with a result against a very good Southend side. It won’t be easy but we have our game plan.“
Head to Head:
Southend Wins: 3 (1 League, 1 Football League Trophy, 1 FA Cup)
Draws: 2 (1 League, 1 Football League Trophy)
Dagenham Wins: 0
